Now, for the remote ones like Hogwarts and Hogsmeade it wouldn't be so bad, throw a nuke or two in the general area and there's those locations gone, but for others like Diagon Ally which are sitting in the middle of muggle cities, they need to be able to destroy them without heavily impacting the general population or the war is lost even if they win. If muggles hit first it would depend on two matters, number one: Can they find their targets? Magical locations are hidden from muggles and technology doesn't work well with magic so they would need some way to manually target wizarding settlements. If wizards hit first they'd win, there would be no way of stopping them if they started the fight, doesn't even matter if they used the unforgivables, since there are many other magics that would allow them to control the muggle leaders and cut off the chains of command. It would depend on who hit first and how hard they could hit. What do you think? Are there any more advantages on either side? How would such a war play out? Some bodyguards of muggle leaders might be corrupted and turn against their leaders, either killing them or becoming spies for the wizards. Still, this is also a one-to-one action that would take some time to achieve. The ability to make someone, including muggle leaders, do what you want (or forget something) is also a significant advantage for the wizards. Although not for transporting hundreds of wizards at the same time, like muggle airplanes and trains, the ability of apparition and portkeys to move a wizard anywhere behind locked muggle doors is a significant advantage. No wizard would be able to shield against a nuke or a fast-moving sniper bullet. However, this resource is slow and not limitless wizards get tired, and the strength of shields and wards depend on the strength and reaction time of the wizard.
